The Antique and Classic Boat Society
Bringing people together with a common interest in historic, antique and classic boats.

The Antique Outboard Motor Club
In 1866, the first outboard device was patented. Since that time, over 160 manufacturers have entered the industry - few remain. Names like Caille, Waterman, Walnut, Lockwood, Motcomo, Columbian, Gray and Ferro are all forgotten except for AOMCI: a world-wide, non-profit organization devoted to people who are interested in antique outboards, their preservation, and their restoration.

The Century Boat Club
Dedicated to the wooden Century Boat enthusiast, the Century Boat Club offers a forum to exchange ideas, ask and offer advice, and share experiences with hundreds of other Century boat owners.

The Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club

National Maritime Historical Society
NMHS began in 1963 as a group of maritime enthusiasts working to save the bark Kaiulani and return her to the US from the Philippines. While that effort proved unsuccessful, the group recognized the broader need for an organization to serve the cause of raising the maritime awareness of the American people.

Florida and the Treasure Coast

American Victory Mariners Memorial and Museum Ship: (Tampa) The SS American Victory will be the first restored Victory ship located anywhere other than California. She will be the only museum ship of its type in the southeast U.S. and the only floating maritime museum in Florida.

Chapman School of Seamanship: (Stuart) Now in its fourth decade of operation, the Chapman School of Seamanship was founded by the late Glen D. Castle, a mariner, and Charles F. Chapman, legendary editor of Motor Boating & Sailing Magazine and author of the "Boater's Bible," Piloting, Seamanship & Small Boat Handling.

East Martello Towers Gallery and Museum: (Key West) The East Martello Towers Gallery and Museum, designed after the nearly impregnable coastal martello (watchtowers in Italy), the East Martello fort was never completed and never saw hostile action. Today its casemates, citadel, and courtyard are home to a vast collection of Key West and Keys' artifacts and historical records as well as military memorabilia.

Florida Oceanographic Society
Dedicated to protecting preserving and restoring Florida's ocean and coastal ecosystems through education, research and personal stewardship.

Florida Photographic Collection
A nationally recognized component of  the Florida State Archives containing  more than 850,000 photographs, and approximately 2,500 movies and video tapes. Over 91,000 of the  photographs have been scanned and placed on the searchable website. The collection spans a wide range of visual images from copies of mid 15th century maps to current photographs.

Florida's Underwater Archaeological Preserves
A statewide system of underwater parks featuring shipwrecks and other historic sites.

Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge and Elliott Museum, Martin County Historical Society: Gilberts Bar House of Refuge Museum in Stuart, FL, has a history of more than 100 years, during which time many ships wrecked and many more sailors were saved. Set on the rocky coast of Hutchinson Island, the House of Refuge is the oldest building in Martin County and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visit the Keeper's house, boat house and the deck overlooking the Atlantic.

Historical Museum of Southern Florida: (Miami) The museum houses the John C. Harrison Collection of over 350 outboard engines and other maritime displays.

Jacksonville Maritime Museum: (FL) The Jacksonville Maritime Museum Society, Inc. focuses on the nautical history of the St. Johns River and the Port of Jacksonville. Its a museum in transition with good information to be gained through this website.

Key West Lighthouse Museum & Keepers Quarters: (FL) Housed in a beautiful keepers home with a lighthouse in its front yard in this away-from-the-water site.

Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Society: (FL) The Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Society and Museum bring you the essence of the Age of Discovery in Key West, FL. From the late fifteenth to the mid-eighteenth centuries, Europeans explored what was to them a whole "New World". Their exploits, their commerce and the havoc they wreaked by both accident and design on the native inhabitants of the Americas all have their echoes in the artifacts in our collection.

Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse (FL) Night-after-night from 1887 to 1970 this tall sentinel of brick and granite flashed its faithful warning "to the men who go down to the sea in ships."
